2.Miss. Ruchita Kande working as executive of Drug Regulatory Affairs with Puerto Rico Pharmaceutical .She explained about importance of safety and efficacy of products in areas including pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicines, medical devices, pesticides, agrochemicals, cosmetics
3.Pooja Mishra as Clinical Data Management working with Labcorp Drug Development.She explained ensures collection, integration and availability of data of appropriate quality
4.Miss. Manisha Jagdish Kumar as Product Management Team working with Legitimed Healthcare Pvt Ltd.They explained about importance and responsibility for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle
5.Bushra Khalfay as Research and Development working with Umang Pharmatech Pvt Ltd.She explains basic protocol and required key factors to be followed for successful research scientist

2.Vineeta Yadav working with Novartis as Analyst (Art work operation) She explains a submission for a drug approval by regulatory authorities and includes package inserts, such as the patient information leaflet (PIL) or the instructions for use (IFU)
3.Priya Gupta in Pharmacovigilance domain (TATA Consultancy Service) .She explained about Drug safety various guidelines of different regulatory authorities bodies and case processing and different software used in case processing
4.Furqan Shaikh working with Sales & marketing in Eisai Pharmaceuticals India .He shared his experience about required skill to work in marketing

INVOLVE TO EVOLVE’
The 4th Mentor-mentee meet was organized on 24th July 2021 in the HK College of Pharmacy for second years, third year and final year students. The occasion was graced by alumni from different batches of HKCP. Principal, Dr. Anubha Khale, welcomed all of them and mentioned that it’s a great pride for HKCP that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in different sectors of pharma industry and business. Alumni enlightened students about diverse options available to pharmacy students after graduation and the wide scope for pharma graduates in various fields. Various fields like Regulatory affairs, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, IPR, and Education abroad were discussed. Mentees doubts and all their queries were solved by Mentors alumni.

Highlights:
13 Alumni enlightened students about diverse options available to pharmacy students after graduation and the wide scope for pharma graduates in various fields.
- Mr. Shlesh Kadakia explained about the scope of research in pharmacy. He took us through his entire experience in research. He introduced and explained the term ‘Techno commercial sales and marketing’
- Mrs. Pinal Sangani Kadakia explained about the scope of Regulatory Affairs. She also gave a basic idea of what is RA, the growth in the field and also stressed on how regulatory work for API.
- Ms. Renu Upadhyay explained her work profile-on how to generate purchase order according to ABC analysis. She also pointed out that good negotiation skills are required if one wants to pursue a career in Purchase Department of the hospital.
- Ms. Nandini Mishra gave a complete idea of scope and importance of Pharma MBA. She also differentiated between normal and Pharma MBA. She mentioned about the entrances to be cleared to get into the field of Pharma MBA.
- Mr. Bhagesh Pendse broadened the thinking of all the mentees. He laid stress on how to make the pharmacist known to the society. He also laid the importance of excipients in the F& D sector and shared his overall experience as a scientist.
- Mr. Preetesh Mishra shared his expirence of clinical trial field after post-graduation in pharmacy (Pharmacology). He also took us through the scope of clinical research in India and his experience. He further explained about the field of Medico-Marketing.
- Ms. Mrunal Jadhav gave a complete idea of how she chose Pharmaceutical Chemistry as her PhD subject and also her industrial experience during the project. She explained how to get grants for research project.
- Ms. Shraddha explained the importance of Pharm D. She stressed on all the pharmacy students who wished to enter into the medical field. She said that this was the best field to take up as one gets to interact with patients and work with doctors. She explained on how to continue this course after B.pharm and subjects’ students have to study under this field.
- Ms. Pooja explained her work profile in Quintiles. She said her work is mainly related to Data Management, Patient detail enteries etc. as well as Interaction with CRO.
- Mr. Joy D’souza and Mr. Priyanshu Singh explained about the differences between Marketing and Sales. They explained the importance of doing an MBA after gaining an experience in the field
- Mr Amyn Sopariwala explained the scope and option of considering disaster management as an option for pharmacist abroad. He also spoke about the course that has to be selected to opt for this field.
- Ms.Zahara Khanjiwala spoke through an audio session about quality control and its scope further in Canada
Outcome: Total mentees 112 have attended the program. The program was appreciated by all. The mentors as well as mentee mentioned that they can get benefitted out of such programs for all kind of assistance. It’s indeed very good platform for interaction.

The 4th Mentor-mentee Alumni meet “Involve to Evolve” was organized on 28th July 2018 in the HK College of Pharmacy for second, third year and final year students. The occasion was graced by alumni from different batches of HKCP. Alumni enlightened students about diverse options available to pharmacy students after graduation and the wide scope for Pharma graduates in various fields. Mr Amyn Sopariwala (Disaster management, Boston Airport), Ms Advitte (Regulatory Affairs, Canada) and Mr. Zaid Temrikar (PhD, Pharmaceutical Sciences) shared their experience about the opportunities of pharmacy abroad and various competitive exams to enter into these courses. Bhagyesh Pendse (Jr. Executive R& D) laid down the advantages of getting into R&D sector. Ms Zahara spoke about supply chain management opportunities in hospitals, Mr Palak introduced new career opportunities in the field of IPR and the challenges to be faced in IPR. Ms Chandrakala spoke about jobs in Purchase department and its scope. Ms Jenil Ashani, Mr. Murtuza K, Mr. Aniket, Mr. Naveen and Mr. Amit Singh shared their experience in sales and marketing. They also spoke about hierarchy in Sales and Marketing Department, scope of sales, difference between sales and marketing. Mentees asked different doubts such as difference between MBA & Pharm MBA, Problems/ difficulties faced in Techno marketing job, Part time MBA, whether work experience should be taken first or Post-graduation studies/MBA, examinations to be cleared to get into courses abroad. The success of programme was analysed through feedback of current students as well as mentors. Total 132 mentees have attended the program. The program was appreciated by all. The mentors as well as mentee mentioned that they can get benefitted out of such programs for all kind of assistance. It’s indeed very good platform for interaction.

The 3rd Mentor-mentee Alumni meet was organized on 22nd July 2017 in the HK College of Pharmacy for third year and final year students to ensure the sufficient time for current students to interact with mentors. The occasion was graced by alumni from different batches of HKCP. Alumni enlightened students about diverse options available to pharmacy students after graduation and the wide scope for Pharma graduates in various fields. Mr Amyn Sopariwala (Alumni-Batch 2013) and Mr Dipak Gangurde (Alumni-Batch 2010) joined the program through skype from US and Germany respectively. Various options like Pharma MBA, Clinical regulatory affairs Techno Marketing, Entrepreneurship pharmaco-vigilance were discussed. They also advised students not to get disheartened by initial struggle in career but instead focus on long term results which are very promising. Mentors gave emphasis on instrument handling available in college. Mentors shared their college experience to make mentees understand the importance of timely studies. Mentees asked different doubts such as difference between MBA & Pharma MBA, Problems/ difficulties faced in Techno marketing job, Part time MBA, whether work experience should be taken first or Post-graduation studies. The success of programme was analysed through feedback of current students as well as mentors. Total 105 mentees have attended the program. The program was appreciated by all. The mentors as well as mentee mentioned that they have been getting benefitted out of such programs for all kind of assistance. It’s indeed very good platform for interaction.

H. K. College of Pharmacy (HKCP) had launched an innovative concept of Mentor-Mentee, ‘Involve to Evolve’ in the year 2015. The concept is to provide continuous practical guidance to current HKCP students (Mentees), by experienced alumni from various pharma sectors who would act as Mentors. It is the platform created for the current students to know, talk and discuss with the alumni. The 2nd Mentor-mentee meet was organized on 6th August 2016 in the HK campus. The occasion was graced by alumni from different batches of HKCP.
The programme was welcomed by HKCP’s student council. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Dr. Anubha Khale, presented the achievements of HKCP to alumni. She also mentioned that it’s a great pride for HKCP that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in different sectors of pharma industry and business such as sales, marketing, insurance, drug safety, pharmacovigilance, disaster management, MBA, retail pharmacy and entrepreneurship. Many of them are successful entrepreneurs providing jobs to others as well. She praised their contribution towards the growth of their Alma Mater and emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the Alumni- HKCP- current students.

Mentees asked many doubts to mentors such as difference between Pharmcovigilance and Clinical trials, Problems/ difficulties faced in marketing job, Difference between Sales and Marketing, whether work experience first or further studies, etc. All mentors answered the questions to mentee’s satisfaction.
Mentors also mentioned that it’s a general tendency of the students to neglect the instruction from teachers which are given time to time and therefore many of the mentees shared their college experience to make mentees understand the importance of timely studies and participation in college activities which are mainly organized for the overall personality development of the students.
In brief, the very friendly mentor mentee discussion helped the mentees to enter into a network of mentors and to extract knowledge of the real world from their experiences.
During teachers- alumni interaction, many alumni mentioned positively about the progress of HKCP they heard from the mouth of others. They praised the college for its developed infrastructure, activities like placement, counselling, college website and research atmosphere of college. Even teachers were amazed and surprised by meeting their alumni with such a transformed and confident personalities. Alumni requested Principal, Dr. Anubha Khale, for more of such activities, where all alumni would like to keep contributing in future too.

Carve a Career: By Bridging the gap between career & education, at H K College of Pharmacy, Jogeshwari (west)
To carve a successful career is not an easy business and most difficult for the beginners. To bridge the gap between career and education, an entirely novel initiative of “Involve to evolve” originated at HKCP campus & was launched on occasion of teacher’s day.
The concept is to provide continuous practical guidance to students, by experienced alumni from various pharma sectors who would act as mentors. The program offered an opportunity to the students to talk and visit with professionals who were once their peers. The mentors (alumni) promised to provide career guidance, encouragement during the academic program and advice on important course as well as field work to their juniors.
The event started with the alumni speaking about their experiences in various sectors of pharma industry and business. This spanned various diverse career options both in India and abroad such as sales, marketing, insurance, drug safety, pharmacovigilance, disaster management, MBA, retail pharmacy and entrepreneurship. There were many queries from the audience which were capably answered by the mentors.
Mr. Vikas Morya (an entrepreneur) informed students about prerequisites for opening a medical store and its procedure. Mr. Amyn Sopariwala (Health and Safety Manager, Mumbai International Airport) enlightened students about the wide scope for pharma graduates in various fields like Disaster Management, Water Management and Public safety which has become more stringent in all sectors like airports, thereby creating more career opportunities. Various queries by students regarding MBA were resolved by Mr. Arpit Surana. Mr. Amit Singh, (Territory Sales Manager at Maxx Life Sciences India Pvt. Ltd.) advised students not to get disheartened by initial struggle in sales career but instead focus on long term results which are very promising and respectable. Rakesh Upadhyay, (Product Manager in Ipca Laboratories) with around 6 years working experience explained that there is a dimensional difference between sales and marketing in response to a query from the audience. Ms. Shilpa Pokharkar, (Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance department at Novartis India Ltd.), informed students that the field is well structured in foreign countries which ensures smooth working. She recommended students to try for companies like Cognizant, TCS and Novartis within India which outsource pharmacovigilance work for all client companies. Mr. Krunal Pawar, who got connected on Skype from Germany, (MS in Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance in Germany) and now working as a Epidemiology officer for a German client, advised the students to focus on their area of interest in making their career choice and stressed on the importance of practical issues like language barrier while pursuing a career in a foreign country. Mr. Ajay Shetty, MBA, (Risk Analyst at Marsh India Insurance Company, consulting for various companies like Pfizer, Merck and Mankind) enlightened the audience about various diverse options available to pharmacy students after graduation. He gave an insight into the risk and vulnerability faced by companies on account of side effects of their products. Some of the alumni who could not attend the event in person shared their knowledge of respective field via video calling and offline videos. The alumni concluded with the beautiful words “choose a career where you learn more and find fun doing it”.
Principal, Dr. Anubha Khale expressed an immense sense of achievement in having many active alumni grown smartly in different career fields, together under the same roof. She also felt thankful for their support in guiding students for their career. Faculty member Ms. Ojaswi informed alumni and students about the alumni blog on HKCP website created for connecting with each other at any time.
In brief, this event moved the level of learning beyond the classroom in a very friendly, but nevertheless practical manner. In today’s highly competitive working environment, networking and experience are key. Mentoring by peers provides both of these important opportunities to the students, giving them a solid advantage at the beginning of their career.
